In 2014 I took a career change from the education and community services sectors, completed a Certificate IV in Small Business Management and opened the doors to Curlew Cottage in May.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the last seven years, met some wonderful people, heard some interesting stories and have achieved great personal success winning two awards and a Booking.com rating of 9.6.

Like so many of us, the onset of the pandemic in 2020 has made significant changes in our lives and certainly in the tourism and hospitality industry. The time has come for me to change the business model from a traditional bed and breakfast style to a comfortable home where groups can spend quality time together whilst enjoying a rural experience in a delightful country town.

For a family getaway or reunion, a group of friends who like to take trips together, Curlew Cottage is ideal. Plenty of space indoors and out to enjoy two or more nights together.  The kitchen has been recently renovated so that guests will be able to prepare their own meals if they wish and relax with a glass of whatever takes your fancy.  Because you are a group, sharing the common spaces will not be so challenging and for this reason, the cottage is now pet friendly so you can bring your four legged friends too.

I hope you, your friends and family enjoy your stay at Curlew Cottage, a welcoming  home, your  base to take in the splendour of Dungog Common, National Parks and state forests, visit a boutique brewery, many shops, cafes and galleries or a special event.

PS. I do accept single or multi night bookings for one queen room with en suite and you will have exclusive access to the kitchen and living areas in the house.

Cheers

Carol
